At the end of November, young person L was nominated for the “Most Improved Child in Care” award, having been nominated by her social worker. For such a special occasion, L got dressed up and alongside various staff she made her way to Gateshead for the awards evening.

Although she didn’t win, it was such an important night for L; it not only hugely boosted her self-esteem by supporting positive feelings of achievement, recognition and success, but also gave her the chance to embrace a big milestone in front of her Gran and step-mum.
