We would like to say a huge WELL DONE to L, who at the end of the summer holidays completed a charity challenge to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
With the help of adults Craig and Calum, L chose the beautiful Lake District as the location for the charity fundraiser, and set up a Go Fund Me page to collect sponsorship – various Compass Children’s Homes got involved and helped L raise an amazing total, all of which will go to the London children’s hospital.
Having selected kayaking, mountain biking and hiking to form the challenge, the team set off on their three-day adventure. It become clear, however, that their trip would not be smooth sailing; the weather turned cold and wet, and the camping meant sleeping conditions were challenging, but L powered through and successfully completed all three sports! What’s more, he managed to raise an incredible £456!
Despite the difficulties faced whilst undertaking the charity challenge, three days surrounded by nature paired with endorphin-boosting physical activities proved the perfect combination to give L the boost he needed. Thank you to Craig and Calum for supporting L so well, and a big thanks also to L for showcasing such resilience and determination in the spirit of helping others.
